The 2024 Seymour Unicorn is the fourth release in The Royal Mint’s Royal Tudor Beasts series, a prestigious collection celebrating the heraldic creatures of the Tudor dynasty. Following the success of the Queen’s Beasts series, this collection offers a powerful new interpretation of Britain’s royal heritage and mythology.
The reverse features the majestic Seymour Unicorn, a mythical symbol of purity and fertility, shown holding a shield bearing the Seymour family’s coat of arms. This intricate and commanding design was created by artist David Lawrence, capturing the grace and strength of the legendary creature.
On the obverse, the coin presents the official effigy of King Charles III, sculpted by Martin Jennings. This portrait signifies a new era in British coinage, bridging tradition with a forward-looking reign.
